    Freelander 1 www.spamhaus.org/xbl/window problem

I have just had the rear back window changed due to it being broken. Now the rear door will not open. The window has to drop around 50mm to let the door open. This window now drops down only several mm and hence you can't open the door. Has anyone any ideas what needs adjusting? Thanks.

Will the door open if you open the window all the way down?

Try disconnecting the battery and resetting the window.

Its been a couple of years since I had my Freelander but I seem to recall that when work was done on the rear window it needs to be recalibrated and the procedure is outlined in the handbook and workshop manual.

Sorry - I cannot remember what the procedure is though

    Freelander rear window

Thanks for the response. The window works OK up and down with the internal switch. I am thinking the repairer may have not located the window correctly when he clamped it in. It may be set too high up and consequently only moves down several mm when you open the back door.

    Freelander 1 rear window

I have found out that the window was not centred correctly and it was jamming on the top rubber seal. I correctly set the heights, aligned with marks to fit in the centre of the window, I adjusted the door so it didn't close too tight and bingo. Thanks for all the comments.
