    Starting trouble Td4

    G'day all!
My better half's FL (2003MY, Td4, Auto) has, again, developed a starting problem. Sometimes, when turning the key, it won't even turn over. All other devices work as usual. The battery is new and charged, yes. The trouble is, this annoying fault is intermittent and usually happens when I am not around. After several tries or the next day the car will fire up instantly. No codes logged either... I am perplexed but have a gut feeling it might be the inhibitor switch from the automatic transmission's selector lever, no idea why actually.
As I am pretty tied up at my work place at the moment I have to resort to your combined knowledge and ask for advice. Any suggestions? Many thanks!
    Cheers
    Johannes

There are people who spend all weekend cleaning the car.
And there are people who drive Discovery.

With those symptoms I would be looking at the starter solenoid contacts.

Also check the push on connector on the starter as I have had a few of these get bad connections.
It doesn't leak oil, Its sweating power
