We have replaced a few Freelander fuel pumps so it could well be the same with yours. It was nice of your mechanic to not ruin your weekend though.
Hello new to this forum, i have been reading many posts and it seems there are some real experts here and i am hoping someone can give me some advice.
Our 2006 built freelander Td4 just ran out of warranty in feb. i started noticing there were periods when i was pushing on the accelerator and there was no power at all.
i was just about to take it for its first genuine offroad this eatser but instead I ran it straight to the mech and he was too busy to give me a full assessment but he said the computer read 'fuel pump pressure low'
i asked him how much it would be to replace and he replied 'i dont want to ruin your weekend'
in anyones experience is this a common problem, and especially after only 44,000kms?

No im in Sydney, we bought this still under warranty late last year from the first owner.
we dont feel confident to take it on a big trip after this hiccup. i am taking it to the shop tomorrow to get the bad news $$$

If it's still under warranty (which it will be if it's a 2006 build & less than 100000km), then you should be taking it to a dealer.Originally Posted by Lily

2006 model & 44,000 km's - should still be under factory warranty.
What is the build date & first sale date.
