    Purchase of freelander ???????????

    Hi Guys

My partner would like to purchase a 2005 TD4 freelander HSE with around 100,000 kms of which most is freeway to and from work.

So are we insane, or are later diesel models ok ?

Any info please, good or bad

    Thanks

Sorry - not understood - why would you be insane in buying a Freelander - is there something wrong with them

Any diesel freelander is an exceptionally reliable car. In the car you are looking at - 2005 with 100,00km - very high Kms and not an issue in itself but I would ensure it has a nice price with a heavy discount.

There are no design issues with this model so - if you want it and it is the right price - then go for it.

    Hi Garry

Thanks for the info I never had anything to do with freelanders, I have grown up with land rovers and currenty have a Disco2 TD5.

I am how ever aware that the Freelander's from 2004 on, dont suffer many of the previous problems

    So thanks for you help

    Hi Braggy,
I have a td4 s model freelander of about that vintage, bought new & now has 83000 k's on the clock.
still going great, the only time it's been at the shop is for servicing.
    I'd buy another one.

    Sorry Braggy

On this forum it hasn't happened unless there is a pic - so I guess the Lady does not yet have the car and you haven't picked it up

    Good luck with it.
