hi Guys
they definitely come with in 5 speed manual TD4. I have one, still going strong after 86000 k's. Bought it new from Purnell in Arncliffe in 2006. Only goes to the dealer for servicing.
Dave
When the L series was replaced with the TD4, both autos amd manuals were available but there were minimal body changes - mainly to the grill area. It was with this model that the V6 was introduced.
In 2004 the last version of the Freelander was introduced - see pic - it was about this time that the V6 was dropped as was the manual gearbox. So if this one you are looking at it should be an early 04 and not look like the pic.
If the car you are looking at look like the pic then I do not know what is happening - maybe one that slipped through because oversesa all options were still available.
Cheers
Garry

Went to the car yard today. I can see why you guys fall for these LR.
Drives like a roller. First drive of one. I'm hooked.
Pitty the car yard would not come down on his price.
And for cash at the end of the dollar year.
Could have been in my drive way now.
I'll keep on looking
Cheers all

Well, I ended up parting with $18,000 for this 110klm My04 TD4 manual. S.
It's now in a loving home. Looking through it's service history, It's been around. First in NSw then Tas then WA. Same owner.
Had some major work done here in perth by the local LD dealer. Both front struts, both front disk rotors and then the owner blow up the clutch plate. So new fly wheel, clutch and pressur plate and spigot replaced in its last service. I've noticed now that the drivers rear elec window does not operate, servo motor works, you can here it. Ony once, but after turning off the head lights, the parking lights stayed on for a couple of minutes. Warranty called for here I think.
Turning it about fall lock, forward and in reverse does"nt show greatly that it wants to pull up. But it is there. Under boby has no cracks that i can see.
It's British green with dark green window tint that sets it off very well.
Where would I find the polland filter and the air cleaner. I have not started pulling it apart yet to check all the little bits including wiping out all the dust from inside the panels.
I'll post a photo when I know how.
Thanks for all your help guys.
I'll keep you up to date.
Bruce

Welcome to the Freelander club mate! You must post pics to complete your membership however. Let us know if you have any troubles.

Welcome!
The pollen filter is in the passenger footwell from memory, and the intake air filter is in the black box behind the P/S headlight.
Hope it serves you well! Sounds like a good car.
Nope. only thing I have behind the PS headlight is the car battery, followed by the EMS and them the fuse box.
Got me scratching my head.
With out pulling the top engine covers off.
Two air intake tubes from engine leading to behind the front bumper though. !!
Any one,,,,
Thanks guys, But nope, no where to be seen.
Gut tells me I'm going to have to take the top of the engine cover off.
There is a rectangle box like plastic housing behind the injectors the size of a filter.
But the box lid is connected to the pipes, connected to the thingy, connected to the whatsit, connected to the grill.
Start from here and work back ?
Got to be an easier way.
