looking in brissy area
A friend is looking for a free lander around the $8-10k mark. she is moving from tassie so will fly in and then drive to Cairns. Any one know of one available. or that could help look at one for her?

For that price range you will probably only get a 1.8L petrol with high-ish kms.
The 1.8L does have a bit of history of unreliability . For a bit more you might be able to pick up a v6 which would be better suited if you driving up to Cairns regularly.
Edit. Cars Guide and Drive.com.au have a 4 available in that price range all 1.8Ls with 80k to 180k on the clock.

Car Point seems to have a lot of private ones available... some good V6 and 2.0L TDs available within your price range too.
