Wheel nuts - THIS IS NUTS!

Got my complete set of 16 inch alloys for the Flandie. About to take the plunge and get a set of Bridgestone D694s in 215/70R16.

Just remembered I need a set of wheel nuts suitable for alloys.

I thought it would be simple and relatively inexpensive... WRONG!!!

Got the following quotes for 23 nuts:
    The most expensive: $230
    Followed by: $182
    and finally: $91

That is more (or almost more) than what I paid for the rims. Ouch!!!

I bought 5 genuine Landy nuts to replace the security versions from a wrecker.
    $1 each.

I paid $10 +tax for 1 nut, wouldn't have bought more than 1 for that though.

I've got a box of them here...

Mind you, it'd probably cost more than that in postage to get them over!!!

Why not just go to auto pro or some where like that (repco) and match the taper - I bought a couple of spares for little more than a $1 each from there - they are chrome unlike the black originals but that is all.

Also did you check that the nuts off the steel wheels are to the same as the ones for alloys?

RAVE specifies different wheelnuts. I think the main problem will be the length of the head as the alloys are a bit deeper and there is a set of washers (I think) that you have to use.

I don't particularly care about the colour as long as it's not pink - black or chrome makes no diff.

I have used both the 15" and 16" alloys and there are no washers.
