Advice on 2000 LAND ROVER FREELANDER XEDI

I am looking at purchasing a 2000 LAND ROVER FREELANDER XEDI.....TD
Do these models still have issues with the front diff and transfer case or were they improved by this model. Are there any other items that I may need to watch out for? It has done 96500 km's. Any advice would be appreciated.

If it is an XEDI it will have the issues you listed - they were fixed with the introduction of the TD4 in 2000. At the Km you have indicated for the vehicle the issues would not have happened as yet. So you most likely have the original IRD still in it and the original Viscous Coupling Unit which will need checking every couple of 1000km to detect early failure - early detection and replacement will prevent IRD failure.

Have a read through the threads in the Freelander section where you have listed this thread and you will find plenty of information.
