    Freelander 2 HSE - 07 vs current

    Hi All,

This is my first post so thanks in advance for your assistance.

I am about to purchase a 2007 model Frelander 2 SI6 HSE. It is a beautiful car and in great condition. I initially wanted a diesel but for mainly on road driving around Sydney, I think the petrol will be fine (although hopefully not too thirsty!)

I just wanted to know if there has been any important/major changes to these cars between their first release in 07 and the current models? ie. is there anything that has been a known problem that has since been fixed etc that I should be looking out for? Also do the newer cars have any additional features that could make me want to go for something slightly newer?

    Cheers for your help!

My personal advice is to go with a diesel. The petrol freelanders have been problematic throughout their life time. The diesel is a much more reliable vehicle and for city driving a much smarter choice in terms of fuel economy, and by no means underpowered.

Stick with your original goal and find a diesel. When you get one just make sure it has had all the software upgraded done.

    G'day Matt

Don't confuse FL1s & FL2s. Different kettles of fish entirely.

My i6 has 35,000 kms up now, entirely trouble free.
