Thread: Noisy FL2 TD4

My TD4SE has around 22,000ks up and I'm sure the "diesel rattle/knock" is getting louder than when we first bought it. Dealer assured me it was 'normal' when I asked them to check it while having some warranty work done. Is anyone aware of any issues with injectors etc. that may account for the increased noise. We were really impressed with the low noise level in the TD4 when looking to purchase so I'm fairly sesitive to it. It's coming up for the second service and I'd like to be well informed when I take it in. Any suggestions?

I have a Mazda 6 diesel and it also has a diesel knock that was getting louder with age. It had no faults in the engine. I cleaned the MAF sensor and it has made a huge difference to the diesel knock especially when cold
