Decent new FL2 under $50K on road ?

Next year (April/May) it will be time to replace the Citroen C5 with a .. well, with something else.

Having owned a Range Rover Classic LSE we were spoiled and Mrs Vlad loved the higher driving position. That, and also the Citroen, have very very good spec levels for the money we paid.

We'd have an HSE in a heartbeat, if we could but can't afford it.
(The vehicle will be on salary sacrifice lease).

The SE looks pretty good too.

Here's the rub though.

Our maximum on-the-road price (that we can probabkly afford payments on) is $50K

What will tis get us in the way of an FL2 ?
Are real world prices better than advertiosed - i.e. is there much negotiation possible.

I have seen recent ads for a $49,990 FL2 TD4_e but the idea of stop-start doesn;t appeal to me. Knowing Land Rover it wold stop more often than it starts !

Anyone own a TD4_e ? Tell me about it.

I'm deperately hoping that come April next year there are some great value ex-demo models going cheap !!!

I am also looking into buying a FL2 TD for the wife, the best price for the SE was 55k (drive away) here in WA, but in regards to the TD_E I did read on the free2 forum that you can turn if off buy pressing the E button each time you start the car, they (all) also went on to say thay they wished they bought the auto..... hope this helps.

I understand the TD_E function is not available in auto, only manual.

BigJon it's a bit soon at the moment - not required til April/May next year.

Will definitely be an auto.

Don't care about the _e function so that worries me not at all.

Then most likely more than $50K if looking at new but I have seen some good deals on near new second hand and demos for about the price you are looking at for SEs.

We got a TD4 SE Auto demo (4500K) late last year for $49000 on road. It was a 'Saturday Special' in the paper. Even the sales guy we spoke to didn't know about it. The car was listed at $57000 on road. There are these sort of deals around from time to time.

Under a novated lease you shouldn't have to pay GST on the sale price, which should drop the finance value under $50k.

You should also purchase the vehicle under Land Rover's corporate program, providing free servicing for three years. Make sure your lease company is aware of this when you apply for the lease, otherwise they'll hit you for the exorbitant servicing costs.

I've had novated leases on several Land Rovers and would be happy to offer more advice, simply send me a PM.
