To Buy or not?? - 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 SE

    Hello,

I've found a pretty decent 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 SE with about 35,000km on the clock. I'm considering purchasing but would like to know others opinion on things (problems) to look out for, what would be a reasonable price? What are the general thoughts on this vehicle, as I've never owned a Land Rover before.

They are a good car with no real issues, great to drive and good off road. You will have 2 years of warranty left in the unlikely event of a problem. I don't really know how much you should be paying these days, I bought mine in 2008 and been very happy with it.

Out of the 8ish Landrovers I have owned the wife's Freelander II is by far the best we have bought

At 3 years old and 100k on the clock we have had no issues with it

Fuel economy too is great, she does a lot of highway miles and just today commented after filling up the DTE read 999klms

They are a good medium size offroader

Change of circumstances and have been actively seeking something smaller than the P38 There are a number of low km FL2s coming off lease and am wondering about the diff between the TD4 and SD4 engines... the latter having same torque but 30kw extra albeit at 500rpm lower than the TD4. (3,500rpm vs 4000 rpm for the TD4) Also, is the HSE worth the extra $$ over the SE?

    cheers

The petrol variant has a lovely Volvo straight 6 in it but hey...I may be a bit biased!!!! SWMBO thinks she would like one to replace the V40. Mmmm... Two Land Rovers???
