    FL2 TD4 MY13

    Hi,

Off to service centre tomorrow, have an intermittent water in fuel MESSAGE flashing up for a second on startup, just concerned to know if this is a sensor or a problem with dirty fuel always buy at BP.

I am a first time Freelander 2 owner, and hope that this is just a hiccup, as at 5000k i dont want to start the service payment roundabout.

    Cheers

    Hi
We have the same problem with our MY13 SD4.
Not fuel related as it has happened since picking up the car at the end of January.
Service have tried once to correct without luck next step is to replace sensor.

I don't think my 08 model has such a sensor. Anyone know when it was put into them?

Hi, Thanks for the info, did they test your fuel, how do you know that the fuel that you buy doesn't have water in it. It just makes you wonder, you read on this forum the devastating consequences of water in fuel, and it makes you worry. I would love to know if the freelander engine is anymore at risk of water than any other make. I had an ix35 diesel prior and never had an issue with this.

    Cheers

Likewise, have a MY13 SD4 FL2 delivered mid Jan with the same message but only saw it flashed once so did not think much of it. Will keep a closer eye on it. Car has only done 3000 kms. Can those that get it looked at, please advise resolution. Thanking in advance.

    Hi Guys,

Feedback from Trivetts service centre today after check, is that they are going to replace sensor next week, as to busy before Easter. I suppose if that is the problem and there is no water in fuel, it can only be a good thing. I have read other threads and believe these sensors are very sensitive, if it is the same used in Discos etc.

    Hi Guys,

I had new sensor fitted today, they are not really sure if there is a problem, as the service guy admitted he had seen several flashing water in fuel warnings on FL2 MY13, he said as with all warnings, just to be concerned if any warning light stayed on. Mine was replaced and so far touch wood, have not seen warning so far.

    Cheers
