    Water In fuel sensor warning

    Hi guys,

Had sensor replaced on Thursday, so far I have not seen the flash up warning on start up, so fingers crossed. the opinion from service centre is they are unsure if there is a real problem, but mine was replaced anyway. They said only real concern with all warnings, was if they stayed on.

    Cheers

Guys sorry to say, saw message flash up again today, I am not overly concerned,
as I believe it must be normal seen as I have had my sensor swapped.

Love to hear if any other freelander 2 my13 people are seeing message.

    Cheers

water in fuel sensor freelander 2 td4 my13

    Hi,

Thanks for the update, the fact that it is happening to your vehicle as well, makes me feel better, as I now don't think it is an issue. It would just be good to know why it is so intermitent, as I was told it happens on a lot more MY13, it must be just a cycle thing. As this is my first LR, I feel that this wont be the first and last electrical glitch from what I know.

    Cheers

Hi guys, thanks for your update. I did not have my car's sensor changed but I only see it occassionally so wasn't fussed. Last time I saw it was driving up the driveway to the garage after vacumning the car - 10 m on the weekend (perhaps it does not like to be stop and started in short distances... 8o)). Before that, it appeared about a month or so back which was the first time I noticed it. If it was persistent then I think there is a real issue.

    Water in fuel sensor

I can go many times without it flashing / showing up, than it might do it a few times in a row, more so when fuel is low, I was told by service guy, tanks drain from the bottom, so if there was any water you would notice it. He did tell me that he has seen it flash up on a lot of new pre delivery vehicles as well.

Let's confirm issue here, I see it for about a second on startup, it has never stayed on for any period of time.

This will be a good ongoing discussion point.

    Cheers

Thanks ByronB, for your tip. Since I usually fill up when the tank is 1/4 to 1/2 full, maybe that is why I don't usually see the message. Yeap, mine also only flashes at most for 1 sec when it does appear ...think I will only worry if it stayed on for any period of time... esp since it did not help (even) with the sensor replaced for both you and gwirral.

Question water in fuel sensor freelander 2 td4 my13

Its interesting, how warning says, water in fuel refer handbook or user book, yet I have read my handbook cover to cover, and can not find any reference to this warning, have any of you looked for this in your books.

    Cheers

Hi ByronB yes I searched for the message in the manual but there's nothing there. Guess we will just have to live with the intermittent message.

    Hi again,
Car was back at ULR this week and they believe that after replacing the sensor a (fault??) reset is needed. This has been done so fingers crossed that we won't see the message again.
