towing experinces
Demon I tow a sunset offrroad camper with electric brakes and a 6x10 tandem with overide brakes, the camper is under 750kg empty but probably goes over when loaded I have never had it on a weighbridge, I recently invested in a tow ball weight scale to make sure that I stay under the 150kg tow ball limit , I have a 70ltr fuel tank, tool box and spare tyry on the draw bar so I need to be careful .towing the camper is a pleasure as the FL2 happily cruises along between 100/110 using the cruise control on the long flat straight stretches of the Stuart highway ,I switch off the cruise on hills and the few winding sections or if I cop a head wind ,fuel is about 10ltr/100k
The tandem I use to cart 50 small square bales at about 1500 kg ,wind drag in calm conditions is not a problem towing at 100k but once again head winds make it work a little harder but not cause a problem .recently I was carting scrap steel and loading 1800kg of scrap into trailer bringing the GCM including fridge, dogs and missus up to 4000kg which is just under the vechicle limit no problems but engine did have to work a bit harder but not excessivly . A great vechicle for towing and very comfortable to drive towing or empty just need to watch that ball weight
