I'm told by a few that the ride in an Evoque is more comfortable than the FL2, however, am also told the suspension is the same.
What's the real story??

While the suspension may share the same design, I'm sure it won't be identical in terms of springing/damping.
The FL2 is under the Land Rover badge whereas the Evoque is under the Range Rover badge. I would say that would automatically make it a 'softer' ride.
You should have come to the Expo & then you could have compared them both on the LR track.

there must be something different in the setup or at least springs or shocks as land rover state on the website Evoque "215 mm" vs Freelander 2 "210 mm"

They were notably different when compared on the ramp and articulation blocks. The Evoque hooked up on one of the blocks - a clearance issue.

Doesn't the évoque have the tricky magnetic shock fluid stuff so it can instantly adapt shock repsonse ?
Ps I don't think I would want our freelander 2 any softer

On the road, Evoque handles a bit better, esp if you chuck it in a corner at speed.
