Ok you bought a fl2 which turned out to be a lemon, which corolla or commodore hasn't? I have seen plenty of fl2 going strong without any of your issues.
My advice. .just fix your issues and learn to love your LR..

Hi,
many years ago i had a Grand Cherokee as a company car.
The ride was bouncy mainly due to rear cart springs and useless soft front coils. The electrics were terrible. Gearbox hesitated between changes on hard acceleration.
Having said that it went like the wind and stopped even quicker !
The originator of this post should do some research as Jeep use or have used Dana axles that have "C" clips to hold the half shafts in on some models.
Mine was dealer serviced in the UK so one can only hope that these clips were changed at the correct times. If they are not changed it can under hard cornering lead to loss of a rear wheel. It has happened!
Not a good tow car at all.
My experience of this car, along with just about every other 4x4 on the market including a Dacia duster and something in Bali called a Kajang ??? led me to buy a 1994 Range rover Classic 3.9. In the 18 years i have owned it one thing has let me down. The fuel pump relay stopped working (probably worn out :p)
I have just been on a Cape York trip in a 1968 series 2a and apart from our wheel cylinders leaking (9 month old crap quality replacements) we had no issues. We did however see all makes and models of cars with problems.
Everything breaks eventually, and i'm convinced **** servicing/service parts are to blame, even some main dealers are not perfect.
Well, I love my F2! :-)
I don't think so. The last reliability study that I saw had the Freelander 2 streets ahead of any other Land Rover product. In fact, its reliability index was better than Toyota as a brand. Of course, there were individual Toyota models with a better rating. The Land Rover brand rating as a whole was way down the bottom of the list.
Freelander 2 replacement disco sport has been showed off in the Paris motor show this week. .looks almost like current rr evoke..landy is starting to depart from traditional straight line design to curvy looks.
I still like my fl2, hopefully spare part availability wouldn't be an issue in thw future.

Now call me a conspiracy theorist , but one post, and it's in the lead up to this:

Destroy my jeep, 21 problems, not 4 and he's smashing it today in Qld . Now I'm not saying fiat or Chrysler are putting up false posts but one of the guys pics for lemon laws Oz has a Fremont, Alfa and his jeep.
Is that why the FL2 has the Peugeot diesel in it? :)
