    Towbar fitting Sydney

I need to fit a towbar to my My 2013 Freelander to tow a van, its around 1600kgs all up and is fitted with LED lights. I am confused regarding wiring loom reversing sensors ETC.
I think i require a Hayman Reese heavy duty bar, electric brake controller and Anderson plug.
Installation of the Land Rover wiring loom to cancel the reversing sensors whilst van is attached.
An inline adaptor so the LED lights operate correctly.
A previous thread also mentioned leveling hitches for correct ride height ETC. any suggestions on that.
Anyone have any recomendations as to reliable installer in Sydney for the towbar, controller, hitch ETC. I suppose I will just have to go to Land Rover for the wiring install.

    Thanks Sparky

I would recommend using an experienced LR shop for the ebc & Andersen plug install. I had it done by pedders when they installed the towbar and they didn't do a very good job (they subcontracted it out anyway) Andersen plug wiring under bonnet had exposed terminals (potential spark in accident), brake controller was installed sideways and the crimps joining the plug tails to the wiring were so poorly done they pulled apart by hand when I went to remove the plug from the controller (to relocate it to correct orientation). Beware where the brake light feed comes from - and the electric brake blue wire the LR wiring loom has the tail lights split and one side goes into the pin for the electric brake so it needs to be cut. Be prepared to spend $2-$2.5k. Definitely go the hr bar (it's rated to 2 tonne) as the LR bar has a 40mm receiver which limits the hitches you can use. Will report back next week on wdh as going camping this weekend with our 1.6t van 1st time with the wdh properly set up.
    Cheers Ken

    Towbar fitting Sydney

I'm in brisvegas so I can't help for Sydney sorry. Search the d3/4/RRS forum there are a lot of recomendations re servicing etc on there.
Yes the LR wiring retails at almost $1k you should be able to negotiate it down to somewhere north of $600 then there's the install & programming that they'll tell you will take 4hrs but really should only take 1.5-2 - they have to take part of the interior lining off to plug it in :/ then programme the computer etc

Meken, thanks for that after some research I think that from MY13 onwards that the trailer wiring loom is plug and play and the part number is
VPLFT 0106 this appears to have a 13 pin round connector which would require modification for Australia, still confused only more so now.
Will update this thread when I resolve.

Cool - 08 is plug & play but the computer needs to be told it's plugged for it to play
