    Refueling

I have only had the Freelander for six months and like to monitor fuel consumption each time I refill the tank. This requires filling to the brim each time and this is where I have a problem.

Getting the last ten litres in usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes due to difficulty for the air to escape via the breather tube. Has anyone else found this and more importantly, has anyone discovered a modification to rectify it?

If it is like a D2 the last 10-15 litres is supposed to be expansion space for the fuel.
The filler on a D2 is designed to have a breather pipe that causes the pump to cut off with the 10 litres headspace.

You will get a good average over a few tanks by filling until first cutoff.
I only trickle in with my D2 if I want maximum range.

The Freelander is a replacement for the D2 which I also filled to the brim every time so I know about the delayed filling of the final 10 litres with the D2. However, the Freelander is considerably worse than the D2.
My question was regarding rectifying the problem as I don't believe that you need 10 litres air space for 'expansion' & I will continue to fill completely.

    Appreciate your comments though.
