    Mudflaps on Fl2

    Hi folks

    I flicked a few stones around on the weekend and wondered about putting mudflaps on at least the front to stop possible stone damage on doors.

    Has anyone put them on their Freelander 2?

    I've got them front and back on the wife's 07 TD4 SE with side steps. Work pretty well. Haven't got any stone chips on the bottom but the side steps would stop a lot of the stones as well.

    On the side steps, NOT A FAN They stick out to far and you have to step over them when you get out of the car especially noticeable in a car park when you have limited room. But the wife likes them so they are staying

    Thanks for the replies. I see the LR parts are a hard plastic formed type. I've previously had rubber flapping types on other vehicles.

    Off road if you are backing up over a sharpish drop off you can catch the flap. In the rubber sort they rip off and leave the guard intact.

    I'm not at all sure how a hard formed plastic one would go in a similar situation.

    Anyone have any off road mud flap experience with their Freelander?

    Mine has the flaps, it was ordered with them new.

    Mud tends to get trapped in them, but that's what they are for I guess!

    I haven't done any serious rock-hopping, so I don't know how they would do in an impact from below.

    An update.

    I had to remove the rear mudflaps when removing the bumper for my towbar fitment.

    Since I put the flaps back the fit is awful. They no longer sit flush with the bodywork. The clips and screws were all correctly replaced.

    It seems I will have to secure them in place with some sort of adhesive to make them fit neatly again.
