My daughter's FL2 has 235/60/18 Kumho Road Venture APT on it.
Don't seem overly noisy, & I expect a lot cheaper than the Conti's, even though they are a good tyre.

I'm going to need some new tyres soon (235/60/18). It is currently on the Continental originals and I'm looking for a quiet highway tyre that is decent in the wet.
Don't do all that many km, so high mileage is not really a requirement.
Any suggestions?

My wife's has Kumhos too. Crugens I think. Very quiet and softer ride than Contis. They are more road than AT.
2022 Defender D250 S being set up for touring.

'82 RRC 2 door almost finished on club plates (will always be nearly finished!)

Late last year I bought two sets of tyres for our two Suzi Grand Vitaras. I went with Yokohamas GO12 ATs for my fourby GV and less aggressive Yokohama GO 55 SUVs for her two wheel drive GV.
The ride from both sets is super smooth/soft and very quiet. I expected my GO12 ATs to generate some noise but no.....nothing.
Given that I chose an AT tread pattern and got very quiet tyres then by extension I'd suggest that Yokohamas dedicated highway tyres would be very quiet.
Like you tyre life is not an issue for us due to the small number of kays covered in a year. Grip, puncture resistance and noise are what matter.
Mrs Grumbles reports that heavy rain which leaves water lying on the road does not trouble her car.
I bought some Firestone Destination LE-01 over a year ago and they have been great. Not too expensive either.

Having had/have quiet luxury cars like 7 series, changed many many sets and majority of my driving is on highway, I'd have to say conti's or pirrelis, but even they have different tyres in each brand which are of the quieter ones.
Other brands like kumhos will be just as good as the dearer brands but I have noticed they get noiser down the track after about 50% wear and don't perform aswell.
And regarding decent in wet best thing is to change your tyres sooner then later, don't wait till they "must" be changed. Age and wear affect braking performance in wet and dry more then which brand. This is coming from someone who came off the highway in the hail in worn tyres on my x5 at the time and hitting the large legs on the big green signs. Lucky to be alive. So tyres are a big priority for me ever since!
Availability is another issue you might have with the dearer brands in a specific size and load rating.
Try tyresales.com.au as a reference and guide of what is out there to pick from.
Easiest is just to go with original ones you had, which you will have a hard time trying to find better anyway. From experience when it comes to tyres what you pay is what you get.
