Thumbs up Freelander 2 - I like it!

Shhhh - don't tell the boys on the Fender list - but today I took Grover back to Austral to get some panel work done under warranty - and they gave me a brand new F2!

Well - no misaligned panels on this baby. And a really nice vehicle, I just wanted to say. When my wife gets home I reckon I'll be writing Austral a cheque for this one!

    Here are some pics...

    Isn't it pretty?

    I love the dash...

Actually - it looks great from all angles...

    And that sweeet donk...

Did I mention how comfy those leather seats are...

Yep - imagine being able to control the wireless from the steering wheel!!!!!...

There's no doubt about it - this Freelander 2 is ... wait for it...wait for it... is a real....

Just promise me ya won't tell the Fender boys about this!

Well - last time I took my Fender in they had promised me a RR Sport - but gave me a Mazda ute! Guess it's luck of the draw. This one is a SE TD4 - very nice motor.

Kat is pretty keen to hold onto it - she can't really drive the Fender yet.

Had one for the 4WD Spectacular last weekend, as a 'soft roader'. Put 3 local dealer reps in it, with an experienced Land Rover owner as driver, and it did the 'rough' test track with only 1 scrape (belly on the stones). Note that the test track had been softened to accommodate the Toyota 200 series, as the dealer was psyco about it touching anything! Our experience ... this little Freelander is a real 4wd!

It's OK scallops, I'm a freelander driver & was waved to by a defender driver the other day. The freelander is finally being accepted as a real landrover!!

Well, I have on loan a freelander 2 and am not impressed with economy. It is chewing just as much possibly more then the defender. It is of course the diesel Freelander. I sat on 85 kmph for probably 50 kilometers and got 9.5 litres per 100 according to the trip comp, that's pretty poor for what it is advertised as.

It has some power though and is a pretty damn nice drive but I would not buy one. I think they state it does 6.5 litres to the 100 kilometers? what trash that is. The peugoet I got did around the 6 mark and that was great.

It made me wonder though how much juice the tdv6 and v8 uses in the disco and rangie.

    Xav
