Thumbs up Stealers aren't all bad

Thought I'd share that Melbourne Land Rover did me a favour today. I took my disco in to get another alarm fob programmed as my original disco fob got commandeered into Freelander service a few months back - and that orginal fob locked/unlocked both Freelander and Disco simultaneously, which was a bit annoying ...

Anyways, Melb Land Rover added the new fob and removed my old one from my disco free of charge today - and I was just a walk in customer with no booking. I'm quick to whinge about them when they stuff up so figured I should share something good about them too.

Yep, I know it was 3 yrs ago but MLR get a thumbs up from me too.

I only called in a couple of times but I found their service superb.

    Credit where credit's due.

Clark - I am glad your experience was positive but I would have to say that is the exception.

I went in to see dealers to have fobs coded and they all required the car to be booked in - the minimum charge was 1 hour labour ($130) even though it takes about 10 mins. Even my local specialist charges about 1/2 hour - which is OK I guess.

However as a good will thing I would have thought something like that could be done for free (it is an opportunity for them to generate extra business as they can read fault codes at the same time).

Anyway - I went to 4xFour in Kotara and they did it for zip - as a result I am more tempted to buy my spares and get work with them. In fact most of my recent Freelander spares have come from them.
