    Got heaps of mapped and thrashed Td5's that have seen 250 to 300 and still going strong. Yes this plastic dowel episode is a disaster, but once rectified with steel dowels, all is well.

    I would rate the Td5 very highly for strength, they just need some more cubes (stroke?) to aid decent low end torque.

    only gasket at port 2 and 3 and very early stages as it was not losing coolant or overheating was only over pressurising the cooling system
    all good
