    'A Grand Day Out'

    G'day all,
Last Friday (8th April), Dad, myself and Philco caught the train up to the National 4wd, boating, fishing and camping etc Show at the RNA Showgrounds in Brisbane.
We soon met up with newcomer Garry (recently a classic
    Land Rover owner).
We all had a top day and dad even had a (successful) attempt at the Isuzu Reversing Challenge. He is eagerly awaiting his prize.
Dad and I also had a somewhat exciting ride in dare I say - a Nissan GQ Patrol with a ute-chop, full internal rollcage and oversized mud tyres.
The pavillions were choca-bloc with stuff and we picked up some great bargains including a 9-tonne snatch strap and two 4.7-tonne bow-shackles for only $49

Later we met media identity 'Honest Don the Christian - the 4wd-ers friend'. We then had a good look at Roothy's old Milo (the 'brake' however was nowhere to be seen).

When we eventually left, we felt that we could have easily spent another 3 hours at the Show.
Oh, and the train back to the Gold Coast was absolutly packed.

    Cherrs,
    Harry jnr

i went yesterday afternoon, i probably saved more than we paid for entry although

i recon at $15/person and $10 to park we are paying more for less, no where near the amount of exibitors as previous years

oh btw i did go anywhere near the boating/fishing area

I went on Saturday morning and was a bit disappointed by the lack of exhibitors. The 4wd section was ok but camping was pretty poor.
