    Very cool

So out of a matter of interest... how are banners normally flown if not from the ground?

Most Banner Towing is launched using the Aerial Pickup method.
Where by the Aircraft has a hook attached and swoops down to grab a loop of rope.
I have done both and despite the theatics of the Aerial Pickup, I beleive that it requires less skill.
I will have to get some video of an Aerial Pickup.

    PS thanks for the LIKES

Its a bit like driving offroad.
Any old crate could pull off a Aerial Pick up
But its takes a well set up truck to do Big Red
It takes a very capiable plane to get off the ground in 150 feet and 100 feet up in the air before the banner hits.

    so Im assuming

    in the ground launch

the aircraft taxis and gets hooked up with the cable run back from the banner to the start point and hooked up to the back of the plane
the aircraft taxis past the banner and takes off
when the cable runs out of slack the banner follows up.

and an areial pick up is basically the same as taking the cable for an arrested landing but done in the air like they used to do to pickup the stores gliders back in WWII

ok so how do you layout the banner on the ground?

flake it like a running line or just leave it flat?

    and a major grump,

    carpenters use 'planes'

    it's an aircraft,

to exclude those ****ing fling wing things,

    it is an aeroplane.

if you want to buy a plane, go to a hardware store.

you cannot fly a plane, you may be able to throw a plane, or use a plane to dress timber, [as an aside to this, you burn wood, that is different to 'timber']

and i should also add that, that aircraft is in beautiful condition, you must have a very good maintenance support crew to look after it,well done.

are you able to take passengers?
    Safe Travels
