Blaze Aid - a floody good idea

Blaze Aid What's that?, you ask.

Think back to the 'Black Saturday' Victorian bushfires. Now fast forward to the Qld floods. We all watched the media saturation of the devastation of the Brisbane floods (including Grantham, Lockyer Valley, Ipswich, Toowoomba etc) and much resources have gone there.
But in our experience, those on the land further out, feel somewhat forgotten and struggle to hold back an out-pouring of emotion and loss.

We're country kids stuck in the city, and felt compelled to go and help. And go out bush we did. And as we were a blessing to those on the land, we felt richly blessed within ourselves.
We worked shoulder-to-shoulder with farmers whose properties suffered severe damage from the floods.
The resounding feedback from them is that they felt quite humbled and so grateful that we, complete strangers from the city, would freely give up our time and travel out to them and work alongside them on the hard tasks of repairing their properties.

We've returned back home now, very tired, but have grown in the experience! Our dual cab MK Triton 4x4 diesel never missed a beat.

What next, dear reader? Do yourself a favour and go to BlazeAid builds fences, Volunteers for flood victims to find out what would take me pages to write, or contact us via this site.

    Nice work, Harry.
When I was deployed to Fernvale post floods with the SES, I tried to organise some assistance for the farmers out there, to no avail.
I had hoped that BlazeAid would get involved. Good to see.
    I'll get involved soon.
    Cheers, Dave.
