We popped in on Friday morning and had a wee look round before heading up to Oriellys and down duck creek road albeit in a Pootrool I was not the designated driver.
We done the wee rough bit of track the club missed out on last time as was too busy, the poor Pootrool lost a but of its side step but my brother had a ball driving down the track, maybe a bit too fast or I might just be missing the air suspension on the D3
The mud pit was as dry as a dead dingos whatsit and the little shortcut Josh and Grimace slid down now has a barbed wire fence and a big tree in the middle of the track stopping such adventures
But I agree we could easy make a day of it

Surely Cheeky, by now you realise that it is an age thing, I like Old Land Rovers better than the new plastic ones and the same goes for Jeeps. The old ones were built for a purpose whereas the new ones are simply built to help eradicate the plastic industry's glut of left over plastic.
Seriously though it was a good weekend despite the excessive heat but it also ended up being a bit expensive for me as I ended up coming home with a capstan winch for my Series One and some brand new canvas that could end up as a canopy, seat covers or even a tonneau cover for the gunbuggy, or anything yet, plus a few other odds and ends.
There was some hard salesmanship going on in some stalls as is obvious in the shot below....
    .
As mentioned earlier, the Landy scene was sadly very poorly represented..

There was, as usual, some brilliant pieces of equipment on display including one White scout car that is fitted with in excess of $33,000 of firearms and mounts let alone what has been spent on the rest of the vehicle.
This year was the 70th year of the WLA Harley Davidson bikes and as a result there were quite a number on display.

Something for everyone of all ages...

A good weekend and I must say it was good to see the number of faces from the GCLRO.
