    so many trips
    so many boggings,

isn't it funny how the miracle events never get filmed, just the failures!

So that V8 finally crapped itself. I remeber hearing those lovely knocking noises at idle a couple of years back

You did well, you have as much mechanical sympathy as I do, SFA If you bought a Rangie it'l be still going, the sunga had over 400K on it and still ran..... well sort of

    Thanks Trav,
The engine is still as strong as ever, I just decided to not reregister it as I don't use it enough to warrant the grand a year rego cost
But that vid does make me want to keep it going

Something I don't miss about living in QLD is the rego cost along with cane toads, cockroaches and humidity. Rego in Vic is so much cheaper for V8's, mines even cheaper because I live in the mulga not Melbourne.

PS- I was joking about the VB, I hate that ****

Trav got me thinking, in 45 years driving and many cars and motorbikes I have only ever had one car engine fail and one motorbike.
The car was a 49 vanguard which threw a rod out the side at 85mph on Geelong road some years ago, the bike was a Suzuki Titan which spat both pistons down the exhaust pipes a short while after my 3.30 hour trip to mildura from moorabbin airport one Friday arvo after work also some years ago.

I would say that the most caned engines I have ever operated would be the vanguard 4 cyl 2088cc, the leyland p76 4400cc, and this land rover v8 3900cc,
I would have to say that the rover v8 is a fabulous engine, mine has 350 thou kms and has performed flawlessly apart from some electrical hiccups.
I also think engine reliability comes down to sensible operation and maintenance

I think the v8 sent some bad karma to duggy diesel,

    So the v8 is back.

Sadly duggy's engine passed away Saturday arvo,
I think I might find a voodoo disco in the v8 with a stake through the bonnet.

Not very good news about the Terminal Detonation imminent powered disco

But at least you have done the world a favor that's one less TDi for us to worry about

You realize that a petition was being organised to bring the V8 back

Post thanks to agree that we are glad that the V8 lives on
