8) if you look at the earlier posts capt'n it looks like there will be plenty of kids. and we are a family friendly mob, so come anyway, its only for a few days so how bored can they get [once the need for tv has left their bodies?]

My son came camping with us from when he was 1.5years old and is now 15, and loved all of it. Kids HAVE to go camping with their parents and friends, it's an essential part of life and makes for better people and society. Some fringe benefits are of course swimming, tanning (in the course of activities), runnung on the beach, fishing, cooking, exploring etc etc. We need to teach our kids stuff and what better place or opportunity to do just that???? :wink:

I concur Xbox, and if I can get things sorted I will be bringing my tribe as I have never been camping with them, nor have I gone camping since my late teens, so am keen as mustard as long as I am able to dot the "i's and cross the "t's.

P.S. Captain Rightfoot you mentioned something in respect the the conditions at Fraser, was that meaning that conditons can be gnarly or pretty cruisy? Havent been back to the beach since the bogging 8O , though happy to attempt again

Stevo... setting up with camping gear can be a bit pricey... but once you've done it all your holidays are for free from there on https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ I do know that it's a very personal thing...what you get depends on a million things from how often you go to how deep your pockets are.

Maybe you might be better to borrow some stuff for this trip and look at what everyone else has? That way you can make a good call for you.

As to the difficulty level.... I've only been to fraser once, and it all seemed pretty cool to me. Having said that I'm sure I'll end up bogged to the axles next trip :roll: :roll: I think it all depends on how much rain they have had. When it's dry it's very loose and can be difficult. Have a look at the conditions report link below.

One things for sure... if you stuggle then there are going to be a lot of people a lot worse off than you 8O Just make sure you have recovery points on your vehicle.

Thanks for that info and thoughts, much appreciated. Valid point on the camping gear etc, and yes if someone does go down in the sand at least help will be close at hand, though if I am able to go I dont intend to this time, moreso knowing what to do this time round. Gee the more I talk about it the keener I am getting to go, and thinking in my head, its not like I need permission or time off since I am the boss https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ , and the kids I dont think I would need to twist their arm in having a day off, hmm very much closer now. One thing is what are the facilities like, or would we be in remote area, ie Im talking things like showers/toilets and the like, thanks again,

I'm thinking no facilities but i'll start a new topic so puple can post what equipment they have and we can see what will work.

I'm thinking we can set up say 3 or 4 ensuites if people have them and can be used by everyone etc. I have one and Camo is getting one.

Have read to much bad info on sand driving and component ware.

You have lockers everywhere, a potent vehicle, good driving style, lots of friends to help out (if we don't need to be helped!), and it's just for one weekend :twisted: .
If you were to be on the sand for months on end, maybe a problem and i'll agree with you, but this is only a weekend!!!!!
You can still look after your vehicle on the sand, no roostertails, no wave bashing, etc etc.
Bottom line is i would love you to reconsider :cry:
