Okay, so far my list tells me we have the following for this weekends red/G4 orange extraveganza!! If I have missed anyone please let me know and remember, as this is a minimum of RED trip going to G4 ORANGE in places, we have a max of 10 vehicles on any one day.
Please also check our trip gradings again to make sure you and your vehicles are suitably prepared for this trip - remember GCLRO trip gradings and minimum requirements are in place for your safety and also to ensure the enjoyment of all others on any trip. Please do not place any of the trip organisers in the uncomfortable position of having to deny attendace due to you or your vehicle not fulfilling the club's trip requirements.

Happy to answer any questions before hand if anyone has any concerns or questions relating to their vehicle set up or general info - 0422 132 225.

    2. Bolts - Sat only
    3. Jeff
    4. Josh - Sunday only

Mate in case I can make it, would the D3 with the current tyres make the requirements for RED??

Hi Stevo, fair question, as I don't think it is going to be wet out there this weekend, I would say that with all the electronic gadgetry in the D3, your tyres should cope - Glen would you agree knowing where you are going to take us? Have you determined if you have rated recovery points front and rear, as this trip is likely to throw up a few recovery scenarios and recovery points would be my first concern on the D3 or any other car, before tyres?

Will keep you posted Stevo once I hear back from Glen.

    Hey Mick,

I double check but Im pretty sure it has them both front and back, I know for sure on the back as that was where I was pulled out on Bribie and from the recovery day at my place we checked the front as well. At least if I can go and I have this confirmation I will know that Im not wasting anyones time, if you know what I mean

    Regards

    Stevo,

D3 is supposed to have front and rear, that are rated for off road recovery, i.e. snatching, violent pulling (yes we are still talking 4wding here).
The front is behind a plastic cover you have to remove, (unscrewing plastic lugs i believe), no idea where the rear is, sorry.

    Stevo,
The rear is the same you have to remove the rectangle plastic cover on the rear bumper. The recovery mounts on the D3 are very good no need to upgrade them.

    tyres

Stevo your tyres will be fine.

The saturday night run will be the hardest of all, those who wish to attend can drive to the area where we will set up a muster point with coffee and food. This area is condensed with the trtacks being all close together. there are some steepish climbs and desents along with other fun things.

We will have 4 or 5 vehicles on the night run. there is no embarrasment here so please take note. Any driver who is not prepared to drive a track or is not confident please speak up. Do this before you damage your truck.

There is no doubt we will be recovering vehicles. Saturday night will be an oppertunity to do some more technical recoveries as a group.

    glen.
