Likewise I wouldn't have minded a drive up the coast.
I Hate working weekends
Well I had to nurse the RR back to the Gold Coast last night but as I have seen what is available at Coffs, I am not only kicking myself for having to come home early but can’t wait for the next trip down there.
The Coffs Harbour folks are nothing short of top rate and I must be honest and say this is the first time I have been on a Landy group trip where there were numbers of non Landy folks there and we didn’t get into a pising competition. Top people and I hope GCLRO club can organise a reciprocal trip for them in the not to distant future.
As posted above, the RR did an oil seal. NOT HAPPY JAN, but how's this for service. Thanks to the Coffs folks, I ended up with own personal Qualified Land Rover mechanic.
While everybody else had lunch, Anthony Eden and his lovely wife worked feverishly, first to determine whether the oil leak was fatal or not, then to see if a quick fix could be carried out.
Once the problem was determined, the damage was done, both to the RR and to the my trip.
Anthony runs a 4x4 mechanical repair shop in Coffs and even offered to sort out the problem first thing on Monday morning. You just can’t get better service than that.
BTW Many of you may already know Anthony. The name may not ring a bell but his face would. He was one of the two “ bush “ mechanics on the Peaking to Paris mini series.
For anybody in the Coffs area, I can highly recommend him, from first hand experience. Top TOP people.

As Drivesafe said - the Coffs guys did a top job!!!!
And what a trip this was
Some of the worst terrain i have been in i reckon.... and that 3 minutes after leaving the bitumen...
As Weeds said, some damage was done but not all bad, glad you got home o.k. Tim.
Only downside to this trip must be the fact that my brain is making one helluva noise now and thinking about another locker, bigger wheels, lift, etc etc.
And just to tease everyone else who missed this, Sat evening after the barbie we all sat watching videos of the day on the cabin wall - projected onto a nice white sheet.......
Surely more feedback once the rest of the group gets back later today.
This is almost making a grown man cry, glad to hear that people had a great time, nothing is going to stop me on the next venture out that way, can't wait to hear more and pics. And thanks Xbox you big tease, just rub it in why dont ya

Regards

Yeah, as the other guys have already said......this was one awesome trip.
Big thanks the Coffs Harbour 4WD Club for showing us around their home turf. Some beautiful country out there to drive through.
Nothing like being thrown in at the deep end, as the first major hill climb was about 500m off the tarmac.
I think I can say that all us of were challenged at one time or another during the course of the trip.
My wife and I both really enjoyed the driving....and I even managed to convince her to stay in the car through the tough bits this time.
Also a big thanks to the SA Crew (Bolts and X Box) for inviting us to partake in their Braai. The boerewors and sarmies were delicious.
