    Ding Tally Award Votes

Okay people, we have reached that time of year where awards are due to be handed out to those lucky people who have smashed up their cars or have narrowly missed doing so, and in turn, qualified themselves for the much coveted "Ding Tally Awards". Please can you all take the time to read the different categories below and submit your final VOTES to trips@gclro.com by Monday 13th Nov - Please do not submit any votes on this or any other thread.

You can nominate as many different candidates as you like for each of the 4 categories and each will be included as a single vote in each category. Please simply copy the section of this post in blue into your e-mail and please, no voting for yourself other than for award 4 - worst piece of driving
Once all votes are received, I will go through and verify each vote against each category and will also have my counting/verification checked & seconded by the club president. Once these votes are verified all decisions will be final.
The results of these votes and all awards will be handed out during our AGM on the 15th November

    AWARD CATEGORIES

    1. Most amount of damage from one single incident
I would consider an "incident" to be damage sustained to the members/candidates car in question, as a DIRECT result of trying to execute an off road manoeuvre on a piece of terrain/obstacle other than an access track/road. Excluded from entry are general wear and tear issues such as, engine failures, suspension failures, drive train failures (unless an item has broken or failed DURING a single manoeuvre). Damage caused whilst on access tracks simply driving to and from particular areas are not included (unless something "out of the ordinary" happens to the car or driver in question whilst on the said road)
Final costs to replace items damaged during any incident will not be taken into account, simply number of panels/items on the said car damaged and how bad the end result looks.
Staked tyres, scratched panels, lost number plates, broken fan belts, electrical problems, are not included

    2. Most spectacular incident as voted by members
This category is for the benefit of spectators/passengers only and entries can only be submitted by the said spectators/passengers and not by the driver them self. "Incident" includes a member/candidate executing either successfully or unsuccessfully a chosen SINGLE manoeuvre which resulted in spectacular damage, very lucky escape (not to be confused with "Best piece of driving"), crowd pleasing antics, or simply a manoeuvre with WOW factor.

    3. Best piece of driving as voted by members
This category is for the benefit of spectators/passengers only and entries can only be submitted by the said spectators/passengers and not by the driver them self. "Best" includes successfully and correctly negotiating/executing a single manoeuvre/section of challenging terrain which a driver sets out to conquer and which tests the skills of the said driver and the capabilities of the vehicle they are driving.

    4. Worst piece of driving as voted by members
This category is for the benefit of spectators/passengers HOWEVER, entries CAN be submitted by the driver them self. "Worst" includes an incident where a driver sets out to tackle a single manoeuvre/section and badly negotiates the said section resulting in a failed execution of the manoeuvre. This category includes general bad driving whilst driving to and from trips and has no geographical or time limitations/boundaries.

    Sub Notes
    1. All submissions to any of the above categories are to be submitted to trips@gclro.com
    2. Entries can be included in more than one category as a result of one single incident; however, the final decision rests with the GCLRO committee.
    3. Where possible, all entries are to be accompanied by photographic evidence or film footage to support an entry. This will also aid other members during the awards evening accurately asses or re-evaluate the merits of each entry.

    As an example, my nominations are as follows;

    Award 1 - Most Damage
    - Justin's rear diff detonation at Beerwah
    - Hardy's side panels at Ipswich

    Award 2 - Most Spectacular
    - Louis' near roll over at Crystal Creek
    - Noz's near roll over at Beerwah
    - Harry reversing up the infamous muddy hill at Ormeau

Award 3 - Best Piece of Driving
    - Noz's near roll over at Beerwah

Award 4 - Worst Piece of Driving
    - Outlaw driving into a tree at Ormeau (not sure this was an official club trip though)
    - Jeff (Fat50) & Harry nearly loosing it in the mud at City View
    - Mick G drowning his D2 at Ormeau (not sure this was an official club trip either)

    Aye, Mick

Mate might be an idea if it is still there, I know that people lodged their requests for their dings, it might be good to list these. Also I note you dont have my ding in their for the D3 in my front paddock, that has to count for something

What about my rear parking sensors there $250.00 a pop x4 = $1000.00
But I know that doesn't even come close to some of the other vehicle damage.

What about Harrys rear bar save at Ipswich when he also nearly rolled it down the mud, and only saved by the plastic cover on rear bar, then managed to to get left hand down and pull out.
