    Traction Control ECU

Okay not happy - for the past couple of days have been getting the ABS-TC-HILL DECENT amber light coming on while driving. Have to then switch off the D2 and re-start the car to re-set it. Pulled into Rick's first thing this morning and he put the diagnostic on it. The switch inside the the control box is reading an error. Rick says that he has about 12 D2 with the same problem and he is working on repairing them at present as the replacement is $4000.00 .

I can keep driving the but problem will keep switching on, only to get worse, according to Rick, cant get D2 into him till end of Feb'. So any ideas on how to by pass switch so that I have abs, traction control.

At this rate will leave keys in it parked in front of warehouse overnight and claim on insurance.

Any boffs out there that can fix these switches.

    Hi Bolts... don't panic.

Try this EBAY shop Autocraft 4x4.

I don't know how he does it but he seems to have lots of new LR ecu's and other major electrical components for cheap $$. If he doesn't have what you want listed contact him as he may have it in stock.

Disclaimer: I don't know this guy from a bar of soap but I just ordered and paid for a spare ECU for chipping. I haven't got it but only paid for it a couple of days ago.

Maybe pull the main fuse under the bonnet. Might shut it all up, you just wont have any T/C or ABS which wont be a problem for a short time.

Bolts give me your year model and chassis number and I will price an ECU for you.

Bolts, where is your ECU installed or placed.
Is it under the bonnet or under the front passenger seat?.

Okay its on the left hand side under the bonnet and has all the brake pipes and TC pipes running through it. It is not the ecu but a electric value that is inside the abs -tc -hill decent box. According to rick it gets gummed up with fluid over years and then plays up, which is why rick is trying to clean one out and get it working. I have just remebered also that the car is still under warrenty so going to find out if this is covered. If so off to Ricks it goes for a new one, if not then I will try every avenue to sort it out.

justin will give you the details and show you the fault at Springs on the weekend.

    Cheers

Sounds like the dreded shuttle valve error in the ABS modulator unit. Try disconnecting the large rectangular plug and the long cyclinder grey plug from the ABS modulator unit with the landy switched off and reconnect the two plugs wiggling them gently as you plug them back in (reseating the plugs for good connection). The release clips on the top of the plugs needs to be depressed to release them. Are the lights staying off now or no difference? Let me know please.

Okay cleaned out all the brakes this weekend and then cleaned out the motor as well, did run up to springs on saturday, no problems at all, then spent the weekend in low range and then home on sunday and back to work this morning and still no lights at all. So I'm wonder if I had a stuck sensor or cleaning out the brakes and the connections have set it straight again, for the past 4 days no lights at all, will run down to Ricks this morning and get him to put the tester on the car and see if we have solved it. Will keep you posted.
