Rock / Tree Sliders for 300tdi Defender?

    G'day all,

Been out this weekend at The Springs 4x4 park with GCLRO, LROC Brisbane, and the Sunshine Coast LROC and had an absolute blast of a time - I've even asked Outlaw if I could join the club as you guys tend to do some trickier terrain then the LROC Brisbane and it would help my skills a bit

That, and Bolts is a brilliant trip leader - even if he does drive a discovery

Anyways one I the things I would like on my Defender is Rock sliders. I had tree-sliders made up when I was in the UK (they got made by the same people that made my roll-cage - Protection and Performance - I just haven't had the $$$ to fit either yet!) and should be able to be welded onto rock sliders when I get some.

The concept was that they would also make a good foot step for those of smaller statue than myself

X-box mentioned I should post on here as possibly D'Ranged could help me in this endeavour?

    If it helps I've got a 1994 300tdi Defender 110 Station Wagon....

    I'd appreciate your input.

P.S. Thanks for a great weekend guys

    Sliders

    Grizzly

As soon as Xbox gives me his defender for a couple of days I will have them made. You would have seen them on Bolts and Stikmans Disco's.

I've been digging through my old emails when talking to the roll-cage mob in the U.K. who also made up the tree-sliders for me and their dimensions were based on this email:

    ###

Regarding the rock-sliders, my friends measured up my Defender and said to tell you that they need to be 1740mm centre to centre...

    ###

Still trying to find the email to find out exactly were "centre to centre" was measured from

hey grizzly, mate i have some (that i'm sure dranged could make for you) that are 50 x50 box with supports coming back to the outriggers and 40/45mm tube coming out from this as the 'slider'. mate can't tell you how much grief this has saved me!! make sure the slider section comes out well from your door for when you are on side angles and for those rocks that just 'pop' up. and make sure they are jackable. should be able to support alot of weight, but i'm sure dranged wil tell you all this
