Japanese Teacher looking for work
Evening all, a quick message to ask if you can keep an ear open. Masayo is currently looking for a new position after IBM opened a new centre in Japan and downsized there GC operation.
As they say... it's who you know that counts and the whole 6 degrees of separation syndrome so if anyone knows of anything going or suitable please let me know.
I'll put a quick rundown of what she knows below.
Thanks is advance.
Josh
I would like to enquire if you have any need for an experienced Japanese teacher as I would like to get back into the teaching world after a 3 year break. I am a resident of the Gold Coast with a permanent Australian Visa, hold a current blue card, Australian open licence and vehicle and have in excess of 15 years experience teaching primary & secondary school Japanese.
Recently I was teaching Japanese to year 7 students at Hills International College in Jimboomba but before moving to Australia, I had taught extensively through varied japanese subjects; Classics Genji-Monogatari, Chinese-Old Japanese, Linguistics, Debate, Essay writing & Modern Japanese at high school and junior high school levels for more than 15yrs in Japan. I have a bachelor degree of teaching from elementary to high school education and a masters degree in Japanese Modern literature. My published studies are based on Structuralism and Semiotics. I studied Psychology in how to manage children and young adults and their families at post graduate school. I also have 3yrs experience helping varied overseas students with admin and homestay issues.
I also have experience in technical and customer support, reception, wedding planning and tour guiding.

Maybe approach the large coach company's on the coast for Tour work. It would prob only be a day or two a week but there could be something there for the time being.
I will ask around when I chat with some of the coach drivers at Brisbane airport to see what work is around.
