Good Stuff!!
Uniden are a good unit.
Just a technical point to mention, never transmit with your UHF without an aerial plugged into it as this can severly damage the unit!
Well guys I begged the minister of finance and she finally approved my request I now am the proud owner of a Uniden Uh12sx+1 sundowner pack which included a 5W in car unit and a 1w handheld. I installed it yesterday in the space where the sunroof switches go, I bought a 3db/6db antenna spring mounted to the bullbar. Very happy chappy

Hi there, I have been asked by one of the moderators if i can find some hand held and incar UHF radios for the landies here, and do a deal. I Am looking for 4watt or 5watt hand held and 5 watt incar models to import at a good price from overseas, ( yes they are from that well known country in Asia) So I am hopeful to get hold of a good quality brand that we can all use. I will keep you all posted on the progress, Keep the shiny side up, philco

I've got a Uniden Sundowner I pinched from the work van when we bought it. Cost nil just a aerial as the one on the van was ****edSo far so good.
I used a handheld Uniden for about 5 years prior and on most trips these are more than adequate. Still have it too and works a treat
Trav
i have had uniden sundowner for 9 years still going strong just brought a second unit for $253.00 from prestige two days delivery
