    Daylight Saving Time

i have just received this link to a petition for another daylight saving trial, at least jo isn't around to object to this one.
if you are interested then click on the link and follow the directions.
i for one am tired of waking at 4.30 am when the sun shines in the window and then wasting time before i go to work,
and how much electricity would the daylight saving time save if we all turned off our lights and tele an hour earlier,
    here's the link:
    http://www.parliament.qld.gov.au/vie...spx?PetNum+931
then click on 931-07 daylight saving trial

Harry, even up here it is now daylight at about 5:30, I don't start work till 7:00.
If I had the extra hour in the afternoon I would use it and it is going to get lighter earlier for a while yet.

    Cheers,
    Paul

Whilts most people are for it, I hate the idea. I moved to Queensland 13 years ago and one thing I did like was the fact there's no daylight savings.

Try and work outside in QLD during summer, especially brickies, chippies, etc.. who get fried in the summer heat and like me wouldn't be a big fan of daylight saving time (DST) in QLD. I don't technically work outdoors and luckily get plenty of shade, but no air con and plenty of heat it's a dead set PIA having to start work later because there's no daylight and I loose an hour each day for that. People will say well it work's out the same and it does, but by 2PM regardless of DST or normal time I've had a gutful of the 30 plus degree heat that is regular in Jan/Feb.

I'm a minority and it's gonna happen anyway, alright for the office workers but get them out in the heat for a day they might change there minds very quicky.

Oh Boooo Hoooo , hmm reminds me of a 6 letter word........what is that word, oh yeah....CHOICE,

P.S. Only reason would want daylight savings is that companies etc that I deal with in other states can be closed when I am still working.

You're right, it is a choice but the people who make these decisions are not out there getting there hands dirty with no touch of reality. I've said this once and say it again, it will happen weather I like it or not

By the way, not all of us have the luxury of choice in our professions. I was lucky enough to be given my opputunity and it's not my dream job but it pays well (could be better). I'm not whinging that we work in crap conditions just voicing my concerns that DST would affect my abilities to get my work done that's all. Comment like that are down right snobbish and arrogant
