justin, that diff guard is getting closer.
not sure how the track rod failed, but sustect the damper failed and the pwr steer just forced it out, oh there were a few rocks, bit when it failed i was just trying to turn around.
we went up landcruiser hill, which is pretty difficult, i had to winch up the alternate track due in part to me being a chicken and an idiot with a gear selection problem
white d3 was just awsome, even the hard core guys were amazed.
steering rod was straightened by using two shackles in the tow bar and just bending it straight, easy as,.

    Thanks again Harry.

    How'd you go getting home?
What was the wash up with the Cherokee?

Oh, and shoot me through Gary's email so I can point him to the vid of his triumphant (he was pretty happy with that one) climb.

MMM seems to me that this place has a habit of doing steering rods Seems there are photos of me doing the same thing Harry. Good to see you got it fixed and back home.

This one is of Harry and Gary's cunning plan to use brute force to straighten the steering arm.

This one's of various cars going into a hole full of water (don't know if it has a name). And yes, I did take the D3 through right after Harry but my camera boy got such a fright all we've got is video of the floor of the car with a commentary along the lines of "We're dead....we're dead...".

Landcruiser hill? Well that's what they (The LC boys) called it. Check out the LC (40 series?) at the end of the 1st clip.

Harry trying to start a bush fire using friction....and yes Harry, I cut out the winching section.

Watch Gary's jeep make short work of the final section that caused everyone else so much pain.

    Great video's

I think the highlights were, "Boys, get away from the edge. Mathew, get away from the edge. Boy's don't throw rocks in the water. Boy's, get back from the edge! "

Ah! the fun of a family outing

Well, they're boys, which means they don't listen to anything I say.

To be honest Ron, I was concerned about the hard core cruiser guys tagging along with us, leaving a trail of JB & Cola stubbies behind them. I thought they'd either run over one of my young blokes or the boys would end up hitting a car with a rock and I'd be in a punch up.

    Good grief!

They were on the turps whilst driving in potentially dangerous situations?

Sound like you had very pleasant company

Yeah I know what kids are like and the girls are no better.
    Been there done that

    Cheers
