    day trip in Ormeau

Stickman, (Philippe) Mick G and I (and Sam's dad) met up for a couple of hours in Ormeau this morning.

Just had the 2 cars, with Micks still being in the garage.

Got in there at about 8am this morning.

Was pretty tricky at times. One of the funniest things was that when we were on the first technical bit, which was pretty rough, a group of about 9 cars turned up and watched. Thankfully we both managed to drive up with a bit of effort!!

Bit of a tricky mud climb out of the creek, and then down to another creek run, where we both had some drama's!!

I got stuck about 10m into it on both diffs, smashing off my front diff gaurd (had to winch out backwards after hilifting the car to pack in some rocks), and Philippe got about 150m in before the dramas set in, losing his power steering! Then having to do a 20 point turn to get out. That looked hard work

Some awesome driving on the track prior to that though!

Anyway Great day with some great off roading, and I think both our cars need a bit of TLC now.....

    Common Mick, where's the pics

    Cheers guys
    Pete

Yeah, good morning.....even if the poor Disco coped a hiding

Some good driving and two well prepared cars make for a pleasure even in the rough stuff.

Ding tally...... Dint in driver rear corner (behind alpine window). Smashed rear cargo window (tree one window nil), Bent trailing arm mount, rear prop shaft damage, massive power steering leak, bent steering dampner, plus the usual marks on front and rear diffs, handbrake drum, exhaust, chassis etc

I have been sending Mick hourly messages to get some pics to me as i need a pick me up to ease the pain of the damage to the disco .

I think the disco will get rested for the next month with some TLC and well deserved maintanence

Might go winch man for Mick next time

    Pics please Mick

Didnt realise you had done quite that much damage.

The marks on your prop were interesting! Looked like it had been driving on it!

My damage seems to be limited to the marks on both axles, the front diff gaurd, The front diff pan has a dent, and a few other marks underneath.

    Come on Mick. pictures....

Boys boys boys Its always the quick day trips that cause the most damage. ''yeah just duck out to ormeau be home by lunch''. Thats the only problem with rock runs, they can bite back.

Sounds like fun though. Phillipe, Skiboy has an old disco he is wrecking if you need glass and bits.

Thanks for the tip, i will get in touch with Skiboy.

Very challenging creek run, and from what we know it goes a long way. Will be interesting to explore it further, but it is hard on cars.

We did get back for lunch though

Awesome couple of hours, even if we did run into a few issues. Definitely a track to go back to but will allow a full day for it as it goes on and on.......and would seem to get harder and harder

Looking forward to pointing the mack truck up this track, although might need to borrow those 35's of yours Justin

Nice Photo's Mick, they do the track justice as to the severity of the terrain. I think we have a new official photographer......
