Got the locker today, bloody chuffed as. Got it in the rear and managed to change the flanges (the rear one was an absolute slurry) just need to get the callipers back on the front and then the wheels! oh and tighten the steak nuts... which i found we ended up undoing the for no reason at all haha ah well, road worthy tmrw hopefully then rego on monday!

Just need low range now... haha. It wont go all the way into low or even neutral for that matter.... any ideas?

Start with the simple things first. remove the boot and console etc and make sure nothing is fouling the action. Check the linkage etc & see if it is jamming. Disconnect the linkage and try to engage it.Quote:

Thanks mate, yeah i have taken all that off, its just one cable running to the transfer case, we took the top off where the action is and moved it about, but i havnt tried adjusting the cable, apparently it may have stretched or something and it could be my problem... i really hope it is...Quote:

that interests me also,
what cable, there is no cable to operate the centre diff, it is all levers and links.
lookm up on the right side of the t/case, and you should see all the linkages - a mirror on a stick will help, and a good light.
D2's cdl are cable actuated I believe.

Yeah there is just like a cable from the high/low lever to where it attaches to the transfer case... I'm guessing after this reply noone will know much about my next question haha... does anyone know if i can modify a transfer case out of a d1 to fit a d2? because i have a spare d1 trans case at home from my old car... if its not the cable thats the problem im wondering what to do... the main problem could be just the electrical crap that is associated with a D2 and its ecu... i.e i know that when you put the car into low it is meant to deactivate the ACE...
I was thinking though that putting in the d1 trans case could be an advantage because i could use the same lever ontop and id have a cdl selector then....
Am i dreaming or can i make this work?
