    Coffs 2011

Well back early "Not happy Jan"

    I'll keep my report quick

    "Awsome points"

    Fantastic venue & weather
    great company and turnout
    Good tracks
Great pork roast on Sat night "thanks princess"
Custom made solar panel worked a treat
Local sawmill full of Macgyver fixing solutions

    "not so awsome points"

The isuzu ate the intercooler on the way down
Couldn't pick a decent line all weekend
Jinxed Greg & myself with tyre problems
My daughter was sick the whole weekend
    Conciquently had no sleep
Engine ran extra hot with no intercooler (110deg all the way home) mind you I turned the fuel back up for overtaking and left the AC on----it was hot!!!!!!
Having eaten the intercooler for entree, the Isuzu then decided to eat the gearbox.
RIP R380, 8 years and just over 1000 hours of Isuzu torture

    "Future Awsome points"

    There will be more trips
    Isuzu truck gearbox conversion pending
I can leave the kids at home

    "future not so awsome points"

    Having time to do trips
    Affording the truck gearbox conversion
Convincing Kathryn to keep the kids at home.

    Off for a Bigfella nap

Sorry to hear of your issues Justin, the Coffs curse strikes again. On the bad driving side of things, I'm going to have issues when I start playing again I reckon. It's been a while since I've done any real wheeling (Fraser is a SCT). Wish I could join you lot, roaring away in the Rangie.

I've been gone 3 weeks and I miss the club already .

    Look forward to the pics.

    Too true Trav
Its sure shows when you only do a couple of hard trips a year mate. Need more time for trips to get the "mojo" back.

    Missed you at Coffs mate.

    What a great trip...

Just like to thank everyone who came along to make my first attempt at being trip leader a pleasure, no hassles or problems from anyone at all.

The tracks were mainly steep slippery climbs with triple peak being my favorite, Johns hill was very steep with winching needed to get up the last section.
The three bears off Englands rd were some fun, if not a little narrow in parts. I'm sure I saw my tyres driving against the sides and not touching the ground below a few times
We also tackled Koala trail which was a challenge due to the steepness, deep ruts and big holes. Must say that Tim and Greg drove it very well, with Gary showing how much side angle the jeep could handle at one point

Some tracks needed the chainsaw to remove fallen trees and other tracks really needed a bulldozer to re-open them, luckily we had Gaz showing his adventurous side plowing down some very dense overgrowth with his bullbar.
One track in particular was so bad we couldn't even tell there had been a car through there, no turning back either as everything that had been pushed down would spear straight into radiators.

Campsite was excellent with good facilities and a refreshing swimming hole, it has one of the best shelters with a fireplace under the sloped roof which lets the smoke out and lights fitted that you run off a generator.

There was some carnage like Rat's a-frame mount on the axle peeling open like a sardine can, Skiboy's torn off brake caliper and roof lights, and Greg's snorkel came off second best to some nasty vines.

Other than that I think everyone had a good time and I'm looking forward to the next trip down there, exploring other parts of coffs which we haven't covered yet.

Thanks again to everyone who came down,

    Eric

    Few pics from me below.

Firstly though, thanks to Gary and Wayne for track finding, Eric for the passenger seat to, around and back from Coffs, and also for organising all the drives etc, and Stevo for an awesome dinner and breakfasts! Also thanks to everyone for a great weekend.

i dont have too many pics as I spent a fair amount of time in the trees with a saw . hopefully there are a lot more pics to come from others.

    So camp:

The 109 on its big tyres.

    Tower track:

Greg and Teena on the step near the top:

    Chris and Dave:

    Justin:

    Rod:

    Keith and Rachel:

From there we headed down six road and did a bit of track clearing:

Once everyone was through, and we had removed all the leaches (quite a few! we headed to the 3 bears track (I think that was the name)

    Massive wheel stand from Justin:

Koala was next and this hadnt been driven for a long time:

    Top section of Koala:

Found this lurking in the bush:

Brake calliper broken off Keiths Rangie ute.

    Couple of scenery shots:

Thats all I have - there should be loads more.

Thanks again to everyone for a great weekend.

Yep got home no problems, have just been waiting for this to happen, it was just a matter of time.Bad vibs in 5th gear at low speed high load

The intercooler had one side basically torn off it. Intercoolers must be body mounted on these engines. Not engine mounted like mine.

    was a good w/end overall

Aww yeah......says the apprentice Extreme lad . As most of you know...I lost my Dad 6 weeks ago....so getting away with an awesome bunch of people was just what the doctor ordered. In simple terms...I had a FREAKIN AWESOME time. Big thanks to Big Fella letting me be his passenger....although I did forget to breath a few times. But the seed is sown...me want play toy too. Also thanks to brother Rod for letting me be his passenger today.

The tracks, the Landies ( Erics beast is nothing short of amazing and that takes nothing away from the other vehicles as they all performed brilliantly in terrrain you would be hard pushed to walk), the location was great...but what made this trip and any of the good ones I have been on................its the people.

Was great catching up with old mates and getting to know more about new mates...thanks for sharing and thanks for letting a middle aged bloke shed a tear or two without feeling uncomfortable. Not that I was a wreck the whole weekend....most of it was good laughs during the day and ****s and giggles in the evening. And the arvo/evening creek get togethers was...well what happens at camp..stays at camp .

Thanks again to all who were there.......here are some of the pics I took with my phone...forget the decent camera...duh........too tired to put comments.....

    Nutso

    Hmmmm the showers........

    What a spot

How outta place does Smokey look....I am the princess

    Regards

    Stevo

Good to see a couple of new faces on the Coffs trip, in general it was good to see from a distance a great turnout
