Thanks for the report Dave,
Sorry to both you and Chris that we didn't make it up on Saturday morning but we just couldn't face another wet camp and pack up after Levuka. I had even paid for camping and permits which was a bummer.

February 2013 - Double Soggy Island Point
Chris (Rat), Elissa and Tom headed up on the Friday morning tide and had to make their way around and over the rocks that are exposed down near Teewah thanks to the recent storms.
Dad and I turned up about 4pm on the afternoon low after also having to drive over rocks at Teewah. I'd driven down Cooloola in January near the high tide and there was a huge amount of beach. The amount of sand that has been ripped off that beach over the Australia Day weekend is amazing.
Just outside of Teewah trapped in the rocks was the chassis of an old car that looks like its been on the beach for many years.
Chris had picked out a great spot at the southern end of the Camping zone and was already set up when we arrived.
Dad and I spent an hour or so stuffing around with my new camper trailer but we eventually got set up and set about getting some dinner. After a few hours of conversation and drinks we all headed off to bed.
Our night was interrupted about 3am when the annex came down because someone forgot to read the instructions about what to do if heavy rain is about.
After a slowish start Saturday morning (because of the interrupted sleep and having to put the damm annex back up as soon as we woke up) We headed up Freshwater to Rainbow stopping for Coffee and to take a look at a car accident that occurred outside the BP servo.
We then drove up to Inskip Point to take a look at what remains of the beach up there.
Then it was back to Rainbow Beach Bowls club for some lunch. After lunch we tracked back down Freshwater because Rainbow Beach is impassable due to erosion. From Freshwater we headed up the the lighthouse lookout at Double Island Point. When we arrived there was a bloke waiting for us in a Defender who might be joining the club.
After hiking up to the lookout we took Leisha track over to Rainbow for a look and then headed back to camp for dinner.
Chris decided to pack up early on Sunday and take the beach home while we decided to go home via Freshwater and Gympie instead. Bad idea because we got stuck on the Bruce Hwy around Steve Irwin way. 1 hour to do 27km!
Thanks to Chris for leading the trip! Even with the weather we had a good time. Hopefully next time we can get some sun!
The exit track from Kings Bore not looking its best...
