    S.A. Melrose - extended trip

We went off early Saturday morning to find a flat tyre in the driveway

headed to Tenterfield to meet up with Paul A slow trip travelling the New England H/way to be greeted with another flat doing about 90K's all fixed.

several days later we met muddy in Hay, then off to Melrose, staying at different AULRO members places before we arrived.

The event was fantastic, lot of tag-a-longs to do, several trips in the Flinders also.

Not a lot of photos to show, comp is having a hemorrhage.

Sorry an afterthought, Garry was going to be with us, after a call on Friday asking where abouts he was, he advised that a broken windscreen, running out of fuel and getting towed back 300k's was not a good start he then did say on Saturday that a toll had been taken and was heading home sorry to hear that Maybe next time, oh we have your show bag here

It was the best part off 200ks we were towed in the wrong direction

As some of you will have heard the story I wont rattle on but here are the highlights

    1. Broken windscreen just outside Toowoomba which was replaced today

    2. Not enough fuel to get past the only fuel station on the Barrier Highway and then Easter

    3. No phone card to call for help, got to love reverse charging

    3. Tow truck instead of fuel can

    4. Tow truck mannie hooks up to steering guard and near snaps it in half, I see some black liquid on the flat bed but as I have at least 2 hours with the man I hold my tongue
Turns out the steering guard holds a lot of water

    5. 189 Klms back in the wrong direction after waiting 4 hours for the guy to turn up. Still my fault I know

    6. Now too late to make the rest of the trip worth while so decided to make the trip home again

    7. On a positive note the wife reminded me we saved a poor P plater from hitting a Roo so not all bad Eh!

As Glen told me remember to fill up at every major town I will be doing so from now on in and will be taking a few jerry cans aswell
