Thread: Levuka 2015

I will throw up a few pics to get the ball rolling.
Was a great weekend. Had every intention of taking the Series 3 but like Bullets I had some technical difficulties so the 110 took it's place. Was however the first trip for my home made camper which was just finished, and also the first camping trip for my daughter and myself alone. Usually I always have the boys along so this was a great chance for some alone time with Livy which she loved.

Here's the camper good to go.

We started off Sat morning as 2 groups but traveling as 1. This allowed those who wanted to complete the harder sections to break away and then rejoin further along. This worked quite well. There were some tracks that we had not been on previously. Eric and bullets cleared a few tracks that had been blocked from fallen trees during the storms although this was more in the Rainforest area.

Most of my photos are from Saturday afternoon and Sundays driving when I joined the harder group. The rainforest area was reasonably muddy and slippery and got worse as the weekend progressed with more people using the tracks. The first photo below - you go under that Lantana, its a crest of a hill, I watched Eric disappear with only the underside of his tray visible and then a slide down the hill. From here Keith had many attempts to get up the other side. I didn't make it. Eric and his brother had cleared an old track out to the left, so we all exited via that track.

This was the first proper 4wding for the Disco and I was quite happy with how it went. As with most cars they are a work in progress. Pete and Sam were in their newer 90 and although they weren't going to use it, Pete couldn't resist. The last 3 pics are in the playground. While we were playing in there, we watched a couple of Patrols on road/at's head down into the forest, having just come through there and knowing how slippery it was getting, we thought they may not get to far. They didn't, but they also couldn't get out.
