Thanks to Justin and Stevo for a good trip - despite all the problems with Stevo -trailer, car and fridge we still had a great time.

Okay a note - dont let the fuel get to point where the light comes on as you get onto ferry As discovered yesterday - Rainbow Bay does not have back up generators in the fuel stations - so when they have a power cut - like they did yesterday - no fuel and Gympie is 72kms away towing a trailer in a V8 never going to make it . Thanks to Justine and Stickman they got fuel out of Stickmans tank which allowed me to get to Gympie.

Big thanks to all on the trip - the people in the club make the trip all worth while, despite any problems we have on the trip - its all aprt of the trip.

    Till next trip

    Cheers

    Fraser

Just a short note for now will do.

As was said before it all was going well untill we hit the truck accident at Yatala. But from then on the convoy ground its way safely to Rainbow Beach. Tis a great site in the mirror of 8 cars and campers in single file snaking up the motor way.

Did turn out to be a very long day with all the hick ups we had along the way, but we stuck together and got to the camp site in one piece.

I tell you what the western side is definately worth the drive as all there will testify. We had 10km of beach to ourselves, no waves, no flys, no cars and great arvo sun sets.

Might investigate getting the ferry from Hervey bay to Moon Point next time.????

As Stevo has mentioned we had a few problems ( and a s...t load of laughin ) but we got through them all.

Kathryn & I put on a Paris Dakkar sand dune jumping demonstration in her D2 which scared the crapper out of us I can tell you. Just on dusk, out in front with the tide coming up, both of us looking at a great sunset then BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG. Airborn 4 times untill I could wash the speed off.( was only doing 40k/hr). Need I say True and Annika in the back did'nt know whether to cry or laugh. Me, I was too gob smacked to do anything.

We checked out the car and drove back to camp.
The D2 seemed to have come away ok.

The first 3 bourbans went down well I can tell you. I have done some pretty hairy things in the Rangie over the years, but I saw them coming, this just hit us, and we were in for the ride

Big thanks to all who came and made the weekend what it was. Thats the whole idea of it. Big thanks to Stevo for all his help in organising it as well. Next trip will be a stay on the western side and no driving. Just relaxing the way we did on Saturday, although I will take the Rangie next time and will put a tinnie on the roof. Great place for a boat.

    Regards Justin

ps I saw a sign to Lake McKenzie on my way to Casino this morning. Thats where the bugger is

march flies, next trip to fraser won't be in march for us.
we chose to stay on the eastern side and got eaten !
saved by the bug proof enclosure camo and zoe had, from some pests, thanks for that, still scratching!
from what i saw and heard, you had a great time out west, will have to reprogram the 'no facilities' fear.
bolts, on monday, when we got to rainbow all the pumps at the servo had no fuel signs on them except for premium -no distillate either, we were lucky.

Thanks Justin, Stevo and everyone who was at Fraser, was a great weekend. Long and eventful but a great location with a great bunch of people
Didn't take too many photo's this trip but here are a few.
A big thanks to Stevo for taking my mind off my own problems appreciated mate For those that do not know i had a starter motor go on Thursday, a coil lead go and play up all the way to rainbow and then a tick tick ticking water pump all weekend, luckily it turned out to only be a warped pulley and not a shot water pump (really lucky as i pushed it pretty hard into the wind on the way home )
Oh yeah, Justin can you send me the pics of my shark
