    Crystal Creek 13Dec09

We all meet up at the BP Chinderah, well almost all of us Killer arrived at the little BP on the old highway, sorry next time we will be clearer about which Chinderah BP.
Cheeky was running a bit late, we waited forever for the cars blocking the LPG to get their coffee and McDonalds.. sldhgndfhkg
At 8:30 we hit the road Cheeky was very excited to lead the big parade of Disco’s followed by the tail end RRC. It was a fine sight looking in the rear view mirror.
Turning off at Condong to avoid a scenic trip through downtown Murwillumbah, arriving at Crystalvale, just before 9, paid our money, aired down and we were straight into it.

Guess who got bogged first ??

We moved on after rescuing the downed D1, arriving at the Feeder Bog, of-course some of us had to try

Some more steep hills. Go the Game

    We found the Play Area

After the mandatory fun time, it was back to the campground for lunch.

Unfortunately for Cheeky, winching out of the Commando at Coffs had strained her alternator, which through in the towel on one of the big hills in the Playground.
We called it a day and limped towards home. Harry kindly offered to follow us with a spare supply of electricity.
We almost made it to the Old Homestead when the motor quit, Harry swapped us for his second battery and we continued on.
At the top of Terranora hill we again run out of battery. We swapped batteries back, Cheeky’s one having been pumped up via Harry’s second battery system.
We rolled home from the top of the hill, Cheeky was very happy to make it.

    BIG THANKS TO HARRY…

I will leave part two for others to share, but before I sign off, today again proved what a great club GCLRO is. I am sure all involved had a great time.

    Cheers

    Gaz

The play ground was fun for all especially mine and scratchy's 20 million goes at the terminator and finally made it dam diffs bottoming out i think its time for 35's and a guard chop i am sure Dave(Busman) can back me up on that one after i skull dragged him up a heavily rutted hill ,while this was happening Cheeky was experiencing trouble with his ticker

After lunch and saying good bye to Cheeky and Harry we headed off again where there was a steep hill where the Game had a few troubles with ,this was mainly due to not getting engine power maybe a fuel supply or carby problem when at that angle after Dave and myself got him back down in some weight distrubution tactics the game gave it another go making it up a fair way, same engine power problem , and having to get pulled up by Bolts , Then headed up through the rain forrest ,we headed down the track next to the Terminator ,back past the feeder bog and back towards the lower campsite the last final big uphill was a fun with 2 sections after having my fair share of large rutt problems i decided they where not gonna get the better off me " give it a go" Said scratchy ,fortuntely no problems,we then headed for the shade of the lower campsite aired up ,and wished all a HAPPY XMAS and headed of on our way
Was a great trip had by all and it was good to see all discos giving it a good go and Tim in the new rangie giving it stick too

hopefully some more pics can be uploaded as my camera died

Trips like this makes me happy to have joined this Club great people in all aspects

    Merry xmas all
and look fwd to more wheeling next year

    Cheers Kelvin

I think Gaz was confused by the Games, can't understand how since they look completely different .

Yep, was a very good day even if I was a VERY late arrival.

Even got to do a snatch recovery with the rangie ( usually the other way around ) and yes, being totally honest, a nun on a push bike could have managed the recovery.

Big thanks to Bolts, harry and Baz for a good spin and thanks to the D3 owners, I learnt a lot more about the Terrain Response in my RR and also took it out this morning, to the steepest hill I could find and tried it out backing down a hill ( can see me finding myself in situations like this on a regular basis ) and it works a treat.

Thanks again for a good day.

    Cheeky

    I feel your pain Gaz

At least your alternator **** itself at M/bah and not Coffs

Definately going to pump air into the reg area in future when winching.
