After waiting for over an hour on the phone yesterday my partner got through to the RACV who were pretty helpful. All she has to do is take it to an RACV repairer and they will do the job. They also give you a taxi voucher to get home and back to the repairer. And the main thing is she wont lose her rating one.But $500 excess claim

wonder how you'll go claiming against the workshop for not adequately garaging the car.

My old 4wd truck is now sporting a broken windscreen.Considering that the windscreen on the truck is near vertical it was a dam good hit. Also my sons two ute`s have that golf ball texture now.My land rover? has a few dents in the roof, but some could have been there before. Was lucky though as we have in our roof two sky lights which are the old fibre glass sheeting and not a mark.

Went to a house in Traralgon today to try get the power back on for the insurance company after lightning hit it. Not only was the whole house full of water but lightning hit the back corner of the house and blew a heap of tiles off and opened the roof up (owners were standing in that room at the time)
But that wasn't the amazing bit. When the lightning hit the BACK corner of the house it blew the carport in the FRONT corner (timber, made from 240x45 pine and 100x100 posts) up and over the house, cleared the pool, cleared the back fence and landed in a pile in the footy oval behind it.
When i got there i had no idea there was even a carport there in the firstplace

Was interested today driving around and spotting all the cars that had been hit. Had to feel sorry for a bloke in a commodore though. Brand new GTS, nice and loud, clearly his pride and joy. absolutely peppered with dints. Roof, bonnet, boot even the front guards, A/B/C Pillars, both drivers side doors (that's the side we could see) etc...

Haven't heard any reports of injury which was lucky! looking at the pics and the damage caused to cars, you'd be in some serious trouble if one got you on the head!

These pics are from a Facebook group, so hopefully they'll work.

Some more from another Facebook group.

Not sure where this sign is, but love the irony

Awesome timing on this. Southern Cross Train Station, right as part of the roof collapsed, dropping a SHEDLOAD of water onto the platforms
