    I think the early ones had the mirrors on the front of the bonnet too

    Having owned a 76 non power steering RR, I would have to say it was almost like it was power steering. If you went to wider tyres, then the difference would kick in. It was easy peasy, even at parking. Maybe too light at speed though.
