From what I understand, only 1972 models onwards were sold in AU, so anything before that (ie: 70, 71) would have been imported. NZ may have got them earlier?

I think there is a handful of 71 models around, and a few 70s. Someone will know!

I know of one 70 mod on the Gold Coast owned by an old bloke that's had it since 71.
Also there was one of the original prototypes that was built in 1968 on the coast for a little but it's now moved on

Ian Duddy in Melbourne has one of the Range Rover promotional vehicles that were used to promote the marque to journalists etc prior to them being available to the dealer network. There was a red one, a white one and a blue one his is the white one.

My 2nd Range Rover ( back in NZ ) was delivered in the first batch of twelve ever to land there in '71 ....i got it in '98, was a bit of a tip by then but all original, sold it to my wife's uncle when we moved here, who ended up cutting it into a ute then trialling it, as far as i know it's still in the New Plymouth 4wd club, pretty sure it was passed on to a member there when he died last year.

My brother used to have a '71 from memory. I think my two door was a '73. Dad used to have a '78.

Note that the original ones were "armstrong" power steering (manual) and the "C" pillar didn't have the black vinyl trim of the later models.
